Kiely Hine is a first-year M.S +Ph.D student in the Department of Geography, advised by Kimberly Van Meter. Her research involves a combination of field, lab, and modeling approaches to investigate the effects of wetland restoration on water quality. Kiely is also an Environmental Scholar within the Earth and Environmental Systems Institute at Penn State.
Prior to arriving at Penn State, Kiely received a B.A in Geoscience and a B.A in History from the University of Connecticut (UCONN). Her undergraduate thesis in Geoscience focused on mill dams in Northeast Connecticut and legacy sediment storage in this region. She has also completed research in Geochemistry, Sedimentology, and History.
